Enabling the Operator App AI Assistant

The ChatBeacon Operator App AI Assistant integrates advanced generative AI directly into your live chat interface, providing operators with real-time suggestions, summaries, and responses to enhance efficiency and maintain high-quality customer service.

Prerequisites: OpenAI Platform Credentials

To activate the AI Assistant, you must have an active account with the OpenAI Platform and the following unique credentials ready for input:

  • OpenAI Platform API Key: Your private key for accessing the OpenAI services.

  • OpenAI Endpoint: The specific URL for your AI service (often related to Azure OpenAI or custom deployments).

  • Deployment Name: The unique name of the model instance deployed in your environment (e.g., gpt-4-deployment).

Step-by-Step Configuration

The Chat Admin is responsible for linking your OpenAI credentials within the ChatBeacon Management Portal (WebAdmin).

1. Navigate to the Integration Section

Log into the ChatBeacon WebAdmin portal.

Navigation: WebAdmin > Account > Integrations > AI + Operator Assistant

2. Input Credentials

In the designated fields under the AI + Operator Assistant section, paste the required information:

  1. OpenAI Platform API Key: Paste your secure API key.

  2. OpenAI Endpoint: Enter the full endpoint URL for your service.

  3. Deployment Name: Enter the name of the specific model deployment your organization uses.

3. Save and Activate

After accurately entering all three credentials, click Save.

Accessing the AI Assistant (Operator Action)

Once the Chat Admin has completed the setup and clicked Save, your operators must refresh their application to activate the new feature.

  1. Re-login: Operators must log out and log back in to the ChatBeacon Operator App to initialize the AI integration session.

  2. Access Location: The AI Assistant feature is accessible by clicking the AI icon typically located in the upper right area of the Operator App interface.

Operator Capabilities

The AI Assistant empowers your operators with new tools directly within their workspace, including the ability to:

  • Query Account Metrics: Ask questions about real-time ChatBeacon account performance and statistics.

  • Create Chat Invites: Generate proactive chat invitations based on visitor behavior or internal policies.

  • General Assistance: Receive instant suggestions and information relevant to the ongoing chat context.

For optimal performance, ensure the credentials used here are linked to a service instance with adequate resource allocation to handle your peak chat volume.
